Plot:The film is about a boy who ran away from his parents and becomes a robber. After he grew up, he meets his parents and lives with them accidentally, keeping his past as secret. Why he maintains that secrecy? Where did he live all these years? What made him turn as a hardcore robber? is the crux of the story.
Overall synopsis:Drona (Master Sai Krishna) is the son of a sincere police officer Mukesh Rishi. Drona shares plenty love with his mother Meenakshi (Seetha). Once Mukesh Rishi beats his son severely, this results in Drona running away from his house. He grows up (Nithin) and emerges as a robber.
Performances:Nithin showed his mettle a lot especially in dance. He has performed many complex dance movements with ease. But he still needs to improve his dialogue delivery. Priyamani is the main asset for this film as she appeared in bikini for the first time in this film. There is no scope of acting for her in this film except glamour show.
Mukesh Rishi has appeared in positive character role and Seetha is suitable in wife’s role. Siva Prasad and Kelly Dorjee have played villainous roles and they have done well. Comedian Sudhakar, after a very long time, played the cameo role as doctor.
The director has adopted the some scenes from the Hollywood film 'Batman' in Nitin’s robbery scenes. He also imitated the much admired Yana Gupta's 'Bapujee Jara Dheere Chalo’ with Rakhi Sawanth in this film, where she like Yana Gupta also pours beer on her legs to satisfy the thirst of vigorous tongues. The comedy is weak although Venu Madhav tried to spill some laughs. Sunil who appeared in some scenes has also acted well. Priyamani's bikini song should pull repetitive audiences to theaters.
Technical Values:The background score is not up to the mark and music is okay. The dialogues are also not so powerful. Some scenes in the film are looking like TV serials. The scene where Nitin saves his mother in front of a shopping mall when Kelly Dorjee holds her neck is typically a scene out of TV serial. The introduction scene of Nitin with helicopter chase is unconvincing.
The first half of the film moves deeply with lot of uninteresting scenes. The second half though has some action packed scenes but even those aren't up to the mark. Even the climax is feeble and boring. The screenplay was not executed correctly, music was just about okay but was not that impressive, cinematography was good at few angles but it could have been better. Editing was not crisp, the outdoor locations were good, the costumes were apt and trendy, the art department worked hard.
Over All:Drona is a no worth film with a weak storyline. There is no strong element in this flick except Priyamani's bikini show.
